Mythology & History

In Greek mythology, Orion was a giant huntsman placed among the stars by Zeus. He was killed by a scorpion sent by Gaia, which is why Orion and Scorpius are on opposite sides of the sky. In another version, Artemis accidentally killed him. Orion is one of the oldest and most universally recognized constellations.
