Triangulum is a small northern constellation between Andromeda and Aries. It contains the Triangulum Galaxy (M33), the third largest in the Local Group. M33 is one of the most distant objects visible to the naked eye at about 2.7 million light-years.

Mythology & History

Triangulum was known to the ancient Greeks as Deltoton for its resemblance to the Greek letter delta. It has been associated with the Nile Delta, Sicily, and the trinity. The Romans knew it as Sicilia. It was one of Ptolemy's original 48 constellations.
